Maple Leaf House
in the late 1800's, Irenus Hough built a cottage near the
lake and started taking in boarders from the large cruise boats on Lake
Rosseau. In 1901 the original "Maple Leaf House" was built on the
current site as a hotel. In 1905 Irenus' son Ivan built a fire under the
front porch to keep their small dog warm, and burned the original
building to the ground. |
